Beirut harbour, August 2020
Following the 4 August explosion, ShadowBreak analysed Pléiades satellite imagery of Beirut. The assessment considered damage to the harbour area and nearby mills, and what that could mean for food supply and the local economy.

A founder’s perspective
The closure announcement, experience of the imagery market, and farewell reflect the account of Samuel Cardillo, founder of ShadowBreak Intl.
Visual & technical credits
The Earth is rendered with Three.js, using the Earth texture distributed with its official examples. Orbit lines are illustrative. They do not represent live satellite tracking or an operational service.
Three.js version 0.180.0 is included locally under its MIT licence. Typeface: Lato, as used on ShadowBreak’s original website, via Google Fonts. The original ShadowBreak logo and favicon have been preserved. Editorial images remain credited to their respective owners.
